Type of Ceremony

Legal Wedding Ceremony - Protestant

A Legal Ceremony in Bali generally consists of two separate parts.  The first part is performed by a Minister, Priest or other religious representative whilst the second part, following immediately after the first, is performed by the Indonesian Government Registry Officials.  It is the second of the two ceremony parts which makes your marriage legal and the Indonesian Government Registry Officials will not register and legalize your marriage until such time as a religious ceremony has taken place.

Legal Wedding Ceremony - Catholic

A Catholic/Legal Ceremony in Bali generally consists of two separate parts.  The first part is performed by a Catholic Priest whilst the second part, following immediately after the first, is performed by the Indonesian Government Registry Officials.  It is the second of the two ceremony parts which makes your marriage legal and the Indonesian Government Registry Officials will not register and legalize your marriage until such time as a religious ceremony has taken place.

It is important to know however, that a Catholic Ceremony may only take place in a Catholic Church and additional fees will be applied for upgrading the simple decoratoins included in the above fee and for using air-conditioning in some of the Catholic Churches which offer it as an option such as in Tuban.
